We had a beautiful Easter weekend this year. Papa and I both had to work on the Monday after, so we stayed home instead of traveling to Minnesota. This is the first year at this job that Papa didn't have that Monday after off! We were glad that Grandma and Grandpa M drove over for the weekend. It was also very nice to be able to attend all the holy week services at our home parish.
M.G. was curious about the Easter vigil and we were uncertain how crowded the 9 AM mass would be, so we got dressed up and attended the 7 PM mass on Saturday night. It was about 2 hours long, but the kids did really well. It helps that there are a few extras going on to hold their attention. (Like being able to hold your own lit candle!) M4 fell asleep for most of it.
We had a relaxed Sunday. Of course the bunny visited!
The bunny usually brings outdoor toys - refills bubble supplies or sand pails or sidewalk chalk. The older two got ball gloves this year and had to try them out right away on the deck. We had fun with them that afternoon, although I hit them both with the ball a lot.
The Easter bunny leaves little nests of candy all around the house and in a new twist this year, put a puzzle piece in each. When the kids had the puzzle together they knew they had found all the nests.
